BECOMING A MEMBER OF
HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH
What does it involve and why do it?
You may wonder why we host a new member’s class…what’s the point of all these conversations? And why so many weeks? The purpose of these weekly conversations over eight weeks, is not simply to have another hoop to jump through but to spark a renewal of faith and build some friendships with others who are walking the journey of faith. So we hear from some inspiring teachers around the country and turn to one another in small groups to learn from one another. Check out the topics below….all are welcome! A new group will be starting this fall.
When a new group starts this fall, you are welcome to come and explore what life in Christ is all about. Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life….” What does that mean for those who are drawn to follow? What’s the value of being part of a worshipping faith community? How do we understand God’s call on our life? How do we experience God in our daily life?
How do we tell the difference between law and gospel? April 18 What is the significance of the Lutheran Reformation?
What are three of the most rebellious things Jesus did? What are the sacraments, baptism and communion, all about?
How and why do we read the Bible?
How and why do we pray?
How do we share our faith?
What does it mean to live generously?
Walking with you in Christ,
Pastor Jennifer
