STEPHEN MINISTRY
Meeting A Need At some points in life, everyone faces periods of crisis, transition, or difficulty.  During these times people can receive great benefits from a caring relationship with someone who will faithfully and confidentially listen, empathize, pray and encourage them with Christ's love and care.

Caring for people in need is at the heart of our congregation's ministry. With Stephen Ministry, people no longer have to go through a difficult time alone.  Instead they have a Stephen Minister--a well-trained, caring Christian friend who will walk alongside them for as long as necessary, providing the emotional and spiritual support needed. If you, or someone you know, might need this support, please let the Pastor or  Stephen Leader, Carol Landsverk at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. As the congregation optimizes this program to help those in need, lives are changed, and the church grows even stronger in love. "Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it for me."  Matthew 25:40

Hope's Christian Caring Programs

Hope Lutheran Church has a number of healing and caring ministry visitation and programs.  These services provide a Christian outreach to the congregation.  An updated roster of individuals or families being visited is maintained in the office for Pastors review in order to best assure that all identified needs are being met.   In order to keep updated on people being services by our programs  we are asked to routinely update the church office on their visiting and approximate frequency. If there is information which should be conveyed to the Pastors or individuals who may need a Stephen Minister, also please let the office know. Thank you.

Friendly Visitors:

Friendly Visitors Ministry extends a presence of Christian companionship to those who are limited in active participation in congregational activities.  Friendly Visitors regularly visit and provide social and spiritual contact, showing interest and compassion to these lonely individuals, whether homebound or in a care facilities.

Hospital Visitation:

This service has a team of members from the ELCA churches, who visit hospitalized Lutheran patients.  During brief visits, they talk and pray with the patient.  They also provide, as appropriate, a brochure that contains prayers and Bible verses.  As needed, they contact the individual’s pastor to inform him/her of the hospitalization and any special needs.

Other Programs:
