Each year we make approximately 300 quilts.  Without additional volunteers, we will not be able to impact the lives of 300+ people this year.   WILL YOU HELP MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN SOMEONE’S LIFE?

Where do the quilts go:  Gallatin Valley Salvation Army Christmas baskets; Gallatin County Sheriff’s office; special needs in Gallatin Valley; around the world via Lutheran World Relief (see www.lwr.org to learn where 400,000+ quilts are sent each year); and to Hope Lutheran High School graduating seniors.

We meet Mondays from 12:30 to 3:30 pm.    The Quilters also offer great fellowship and refreshments.  Men & women are invited (yes, we do have a couple of men helping).  We meet Mondays from 12:30 to 3:30 pm in the Fireside Rooms.  Call Alice Jones (580-2275) if you have questions or want more information.  Please join us – come when you can, leave when you must.

HOPE QUILTERS are now INTERFAITH QUILTERS.

Last year in an effort to ‘Expand Our Mission’ in the Gallatin Valley, we invited our faith partners from other Gallatin Valley churches, synagogues and mosques to join us in our mission work for local and international needs.  We are continuing this effort by extending another invitation to the faith community and a weekly notice in the Bozeman Chronicle.

BUT WE STILL NEED YOU!!!  In the past three years, we have seen 10 people drop out of the quilting ministry due to health and age issues.  A few new people have joined us but more are needed.  ‘Snowbird’ season will be here soon and our numbers will drop even more.  You need not have any sewing skills – only a willing heart – tie a knot and pin two pieces of fabric together – that’s it!  Now who could not do that one afternoon a week?  This work can be accomplished while standing or sitting.  We also need people to cut and prepare fabric for quilt tops.

This mission effort is the mission of Hope Lutheran Church – not just the people that work at church and at home to create warm sturdy quilts for those in need in the Gallatin Valley and around the world.
